hey, yall.  i’m veering away from the usual path for a moment; this isn’t about hair.  this is a piece i wrote for PostBourgie, cross-posted at Uptown Magazine (the link above).

the piece is a response to an article that appeared on the Very Smart Brothas website yesterday that contained some dangerous and inaccurate rhetoric.  i wanted to share it here because the majority of followers here are women, and it’s important that folks know why that line of thinking, that a woman is somehow responsible for rape, is wrong.
